ANSWER: It is generally good to have a Preventive Maintenance Service preformed on your garage door once per year. This would include lubricating the springs, center bearing, end bearings, rollers, tracks and opener as needed.

FAQ #2: Why is it very important to have the springs replaced when one breaks?

ANSWER: When a spring breaks the garage door will be heavy and generally unsafe to open. Attempting to open the door manually or with the opener can be unsafe and possibly damage the opener or garage door.

FAQ #3: Why is my garage door crooked after attempting to open or close the door?

ANSWER: Generally a broken cable will cause the door to sit crooked in the tracks. If a cable broke the tension is generally on one side of the door causing one side to raise while the other side stays near the floor.

If a spring breaks the heavy door can possible go crooked on the way up or down.

FAQ #4: Why does my Garage Door Opener not raise or lower my garage door?

ANSWER: First confirm that the opener has power. Next confirm that the J-arm is attached to the opener rail carriage. Next Make sure that both safety eyes are illuminated solid and are not flashing. Next check the springs to verify they are not broke, and check the cables. Next try the wall plate or one of the remotes.
